We are doing our best under the Federal regulations to make your trip a safe one! Billings Logan International Airport (BIL), along with all other U.S. airports, continues to operate at an enhanced level of security. These stricter security measures are expected to continue indefinitely and will impose some constraints on passengers and visitors to the Airport. To facilitate your quick passage through the Airport, please be patient and adhere to the following guidelines.
Information Specific to Billings Logan International Airport
Billings Logan International Airport Police Department provides for the safety and security of the people in and around the Airport. The Airport Police office is also responsible for issuing identification badges.
All individuals working in Secured, Sterile and Cargo Secured Areas including hangar owners, tenants, and anyone employed or conducting business in the General Aviation area of the airfield must obtain an Airport Identification badge.
When applying for an Airport Identification badge, two forms of identification are required, preferably a drivers license and passport, social security card or birth certificate. A badge application and a fingerprint application must be completed to obtain a badge for the Secured areas of the Airport. No fingerprints are required for the AOA or General Aviation areas of the Airport. Fees will be collected at the time the applications are turned in.
The Airport Police office is located on the second floor of the Terminal Building in Room 210 and personnel can be reached at (406) 657-8498.
Badging/Training Hours
Application Acceptance:
8:00 AM until 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. Closed on weekends and holidays. (The Airport Police office is open during the lunch hour.) Applicants may pick up the application or drop off the application during these hours.Airport ID Training & Issuance:
When the applicant has cleared the required checks, the appropriate testing can be done. Testing hours are 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM. No appointments; walk-ins only.Training Time:
AOA training – approximately 1 hour 15 minutesSecured/Sterile Area – approximately 1 hour 15 minutes
Movement Training -- approximately 2 hours
Signatory Authority Training -- approximately 30 minutes

Flight Check In
Come Early
At BIL, the airlines are requesting that passengers arrive a minimum of an hour and a half to two hours before their scheduled departure to allow time to check in and go through passenger screening. The Terminal Building opens at 4:00 am.
No Parking in Front of Terminal
No unattended vehicles are allowed in front of the Terminal Building. Quick passenger drop-offs and pick-ups are allowed, but you must move your vehicle immediately afterwards. Fines – Parking tickets are now $25 per City Ordinance.
Screening
Security screening of passengers and baggage at all commercial airports in the United States is the responsibility of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). For information on the latest security guidelines, security related travel tips and information, lists of permitted and prohibited items, and answers to frequently asked security questions, please visit the TSA’s Website at http://www.tsa.gov/traveler-information. Only ticketed passengers are allowed past passenger security checkpoints. Some airlines may issue special companion passes to non-travelers assisting travelers with disabilities or children traveling alone that allow them to accompany passengers with special needs to the airline gates. Check directly with the airline to see what options may be available.
