1. Is there a lost and found office at the Airport?

Yes. For items left in the Terminal Building, Lost and found is located in the Airport Police Office on the second floor of the Terminal Building in Room 210 or you may contact them at (406) 657-8498. If an item was left on the plane, contact the airline with which you were flying to report lost items.

2. How much does it cost to park my car at the Airport?

Both short-term, long-term, and premium parking lots are located a short distance from the Terminal Building for your convenience. Rates for each lot are posted on signs at the entrance to each parking lot.  Visit the Airport Parking page on the website for current rates or a map of the parking lots.

3. What direct flights can I get out of Billings?

Allegiant - Phoenix, Las Vegas, Los Angeles (seasonal).   Delta - Salt Lake City, Minneapolis.   Alaska - Seattle, Portland (seasonal).   United Airlines - Denver.   American Airlines - Dallas/Ft. Worth, Chicago (seasonal), Phoenix (seasonal).  Cape Air - Montana communities: Sidney, Glendive, Havre, Wolfpoint, Glasgow.   Sun Country - Minneapolis (seasonal)

4. What time does the Airport Terminal Building open?

The Terminal Building opens at 3:45 AM in time for customers on early morning flights.  TSA Screening and Airline ticket counters open shortly thereafter, depending on airline flight schedules.

5. I would like to advertise my business in the baggage claim area. Whom can I contact to advertise at the Airport?

The Airport does present an excellent opportunity to advertise your products or business! Hundreds of thousands of people pass through the Billings Logan International Airport's doors each year. 6. What are the airlines that currently serve Billings?

Alaska, Delta, United, Allegiant, American, and Cape Air all serve the Billings airport. Sun Country will start in mid-2024.

7. Do I need a photo ID to board my flight?

Yes, for the safety of passengers, it is necessary to show a photo ID before you are allowed to board a plane. We recommend that you contact your airline for their specific procedures regarding acceptable forms of photo identification.

8. Where can I get information on job opportunities at the Airport?

The City of Billings Human Resources Department handles all jobs in the Aviation Department. For current job listings, visit the City of Billings online job application site. Contact individual airline companies regarding airline job openings.

9. What items am I allowed to carry on board a plane?

At Billings Logan International Airport safety of our passengers is our top priority. It is for these safety reasons that a number of items are not allowed on board aircraft or onto the concourses. Check with the airline on which your are travelling for any restrictions the airline has. 10. What can I do while I'm at Billings Logan International Airport?

Whether you're traveling alone or traveling in a large group, there are many fun activities for you while you wait. You can shop in the Airport Gift Shop on the concourse, eat in the restaurant or just relax in the lounge. You may also want to take a short walk over to the Yellowstone County Museum, which is located south of the Terminal Building. For more information visit our Terminal Services

11. What time should I arrive at the Airport for my flight?

The airlines are requesting that passengers arrive  two hours before their scheduled flight departure time, due to staffing issues. We recommend that you check with your airline prior to your flight to determine what time you should arrive.

12. What services are available to help my disabled friend/relative while they are at the Airport?

Billings Logan International Airport is committed to providing safe access to all areas of the Terminal Building for all users of the Airport. If someone is unable to use the stairs or the escalator, elevators are available to help a disabled person up to the second floor and concourse areas. The airlines are available to provide wheelchair assistance. Handicapped parking is available for those who are certified.

13. Is smoking allowed at the Billings Airport?

The City of Billings approved an ordinance in April 1999, which prohibits smoking in all City-owned buildings, including the Billings Airport. However, you can smoke outside the Airport buildings.

14. What do I do if I lost my plane ticket?

Airline policy for lost tickets differs according to the individual airline. Contact the airline you are flying with for specific information regarding lost tickets.

15. Are firearms allowed in the Terminal Building?

The Airport does have regulations concerning the possession of firearms in any of the Airport's facilities, including the Terminal Building. Firearms are generally not allowed in Airport facilities, unless they are (1) enclosed in a carrying case or container for shipment by air, and (2) carried by a peace officer, government employee or member of the Armed Forces, when such person is on official duty which authorized the possession of a firearm.
If you are planning to travel with a firearm, also check with the TSA and the airline you are traveling on for their regulations concerning firearms.

16. What are Billings Logan International Airport's hours of operation?

The Terminal Building is open at 3:45 AM and closes at midnight or after the last flight of the day, whichever is later.  

17. Why can't I get a direct flight from Billings Logan International Airport to the city of my choice, say San Diego?

In 1978, the airline industry was deregulated and many of the airlines went to a different method of doing business. Most established a routing method using a "hub and spoke" strategy, using key cities as hubs where all the flights converged from the smaller airports or the spokes. This method allows customers to reach the widest possible choice of destinations with only one transfer and utilizes the airline's equipment in a more productive way. On a given day, several hundred people want or need to fly out of Billings, however, only a few may actually want to go to your destination choice of San Diego. Imagine the number of planes that would need to be flown into and out of Billings if each was a nonstop flight to all of the major cities in our country. Using the hub and spoke method the airlines can load one plane with Billings residents who are going to many destinations and fly them to a hub city where they can all transfer to a new plane going to the destination of their choice together with other people from other cities who have been flown to that same hub to also go to the city of their choice.

18. Why doesn't Southwest Airlines fly to Billings?

Southwest Airlines is one of the few airlines that does not use a hub and spoke strategy. They in fact offer point-to-point service in larger urban markets. Since Southwest is a point-to-point carrier, the location of the airports that they provide service out of is very critical to them. Typically they will not even consider a location unless the airport is doing well in excess of 1,000,000 passenger boardings per year. Since Billings only has approximately 450,000 passenger boardings per year, Southwest does not have any interest in coming here in the foreseeable future. Simply stated, our market is not large enough.

19. Can I fly my drone at or around the airport?

Drones, also known as Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) are regulated by the FAA. To operate a drone within a 5 mile radius of the airport, you must comply with FAA regulations and contact the Billings Air Traffic Control Tower. Drones

20. As a local taxpayer, I would like to know how many tax dollars go to support the Airport facility?

Since 1975, no tax dollars have been used to help operate the Airport. Billings Logan International Airport is supported completely by user fees. This means those who utilize the Airport help to pay for the Airport's operational costs. Any business that operates on Airport property has some form of agreement with the City's Aviation and Transit Department to remit a rental charge or fee to the Airport. Hence, those who purchase airline tickets, rent cars, park at the Airport, eat or drink in the restaurant, or purchase a gift at the Airport are in a small way helping to contribute to the operation of the Airport. It is the fairest way possible. Those who use the facility help pay for it; others do not.

22. Does the Airport have currency exchange service?

The Airport does not have a currency exchange service. It is recommended you check on the availability of currency exchange locations prior to your travel.

23. How can I purchase an airline ticket?

24. I collect airport pins, postcards, brochures, souvenirs, and other airport memorabilia. Could you send me any of these items for my collection?

Unfortunately, we are not able to send out Airport souvenirs due to the large number of requests for such items.
