Information

Overview

The Billings Logan International Airport (BIL) is operated by the City of Billings Aviation and Transit Department. The BIL and the businesses located at the Airport provide approximately 700 jobs in our community. It is estimated that the local financial impact generated as a result of the Airport is $409,000,000 annually as of 2022.

Clearly, the financial impact of Billings Logan International Airport is a large contributing influence to the economic vitality of our community and the region it serves. We are literally the economic front door to our region.

It is important to note that the City's Aviation Division is a self-supporting enterprise fund. The costs of the operation are recaptured through user/tenant rates and charges. No City General Fund (i.e., tax fund) support has been received since 1975.
