The Montana Department of Justice’s Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) received an extension from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, for the implementation of the federal identification law, REAL ID. The extension expires June 1, 2019.  Current, unexpired Montana drivers’ licenses of IDs will be accepted by the Transportation Security Administration to board domestic, commercial flights and access federal facilities until October 2020.
