Billings Logan International Airport will receive about $1 Million of federal grant money to buy new aircraft rescue and fire (ARFF) equipment, as well as partially fund the upcoming Terminal Expansion Project slated to begin in September. This grant will help secure new equipment that will serve the Airport for the next decade and replace equipment that is reaching expiration. The remaining funds will help the Airport pay for the planning and design work that has gone into the Terminal Expansion Project.
This grant is part of the Airport Improvement Program (AIP) under the Department of Transportation. The AIP funding is made up of money collected from ticket and plane fuel taxes.
