The Billings Fire Dept. plans to close public areas along the Rims as well as both Zimmerman Park and Phipps Park during the upcoming Fourth of July holiday.
The closures will include the public lands south of the Airport -- along the Rims from Main Street in the Heights, along the south side of Highway 3, to and including Zimmerman Park.
Closures will begin the morning of Wednesday - July 3rd at 6:00 AM and will remain in effect until the morning of Saturday - July 6th.
Vehicle, bike, and pedestrian access is prohibited during this period. The Billings Police Dept., Yellowstone County Sheriff's Ofc., Montana Highway Patrol, Airport Police Dept., and Billings Fire Dept. will have active patrols along the closed areas.
We understand this is an inconvenience to our community, but please support our efforts in trying to prevent serious incidents that could affect citizens, homes and emergency responders.
