Things are looking a little different at Billings Logan International Airport.

The TSA screening area now has a new home on the second floor.

Go straight through the old TSA screening area, up the stairs/escalator or elevator, to the left, and you’re there! The big TSA move to the second floor also comes with the latest security screening technology!

There are more changes ahead in the coming weeks as BIL continues remodeling and construction.

Starting the week of November 6, travelers will be met by a construction wall at the old screening area. So instead, they’ll need to go through Logan’s Diner to reach TSA. There will also be a ramp in place to access the route through the restaurant.

We’re also being asked if it’s still necessary to arrive early for your flight. Anyone with an early morning flight should still show up two hours early.

“Staff levels have improved a little bit, but it only takes a couple of people calling in sick to delay the check-in and screening process,” said Director of Aviation and Transit Kevin Ploehn.

Passengers on mid-morning and mid-afternoon flights should arrive 90 minutes before departure.

“We have great accommodations on the concourse so if you are here a little early before your flight gets rolling and you get right through screening, you can sit down and have a coffee, maybe some food, and enjoy the comfortable atmosphere of the new terminal building,” Ploehn said.
